Duke Energy dropped the ball
From higher ups in the area - Duke Energy did not bring any workers to the Jacksonville area until Sunday night. Jones-Onslow had additional workers from out-of-state here DAYS before Florence hit - thatโs why their customers, even in Sneads Ferry and Swansboro have power already.
Jones-Onslow leases some transformers from Duke so any of their remaining customers without power are waiting for Duke to do their job. JOEMC canโt do anything until Duke does.
The majority of the Jacksonville area is not flooded at all - just a lot of downed trees. The city said they canโt move the trees until Duke assesses the situation. Duke did not send out any assessors until Monday afternoon!
This has nothing to do with being self-centered about people wanting their power back on or thinking Duke is overwhelmed. Theyโre not. They screwed this up royally. Bottom line is that they werenโt prepared and thatโs ridiculous. If I could change service, I would in a heartbeat!
Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Right on the money! Same story here in Swansboro.
Jones-Onslow customers all back up-some came back within 24 hrs of being out. Day 5 and nothing here. Has to be a way to vote Duke out and give our local co-opโs a chance.
I am willing to pay more for a Company that cares about my community. Duke is not the answer.
