Scheduled outage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Duke Energy - Scheduled outage

Outage scheduled for repairs that they could have done earlier they have known since the hurricane Helene that it needed to be done yet they wait till a super cold night in December lows are projected to be in the 20's yet they refused requests to move it to daytime hours they sited they did not want to interrupt businesses and schools . This repair is on a Saturday night .

They have not published or notified people that it's scheduled I happened to see it on Haywood EMC Facebook page which is fed by Duke and you can't talk to anyone at duke no supervisor and was told they don't have an operations or engineering department duke energy is a money hungry piece of *** business they don't care that people don't have a secondary heat source and possible waterline damages this could have been done during day time hours but they refused the Haywood EMC request . Bad business on dukes part

The needs of the many outweigh your petty wants. Schools should not be disrupted because of you and your wants. Turn on the faucet, wrap up, and act like a man before you're put to another test.

Property damage

Your tree guys, who clear the lines, cut limbs on the first of July and left them lying there. On the 8th of July, I got 4 inches of rain after almost 2 months of drought.

On July 9th, heavy equipment and a pickup truck drove through my front yard, leaving trenches over 6 inches deep and 10 inches wide for over 200 feet. This has to be fixed. If I did this to Duke Energy property, I would be arrested for vandalism. Please contact me regarding your resolution to this problem.

This problem will not resolve itself and neither will I.

I can be contacted at 803-209-****. Address: 2819 Lyle Road, Chester, South Carolina, 29706.

Over changes

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Duke Energy - Over changes

Duke Energy constantly charged their customers whatever they feel like. My thermostat is set to 7374 degrees, but my bill went from 118 to 169.

Just like that. When I called, I was told that I consumed more energy July than June. Which was not true because in June my thermostat was between 71 and 72 degrees and July and August it's set to 73 to 74 degrees.

I think they just like to take advantage of their customers and change you whatever they like and that is not right.

It's been hot and my thermostat been on 73 and 74 because a rep told me that we could save that like that but instead. Bill went from $118 to $169.

Copy of bill showing number of days power was out due to hurricane Helene

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I need to provide FEMA with a statement from Duke as to the number of days my power was out in order to get my claim settled. It is such a simple thing for you to send me a letter on your letterhead to that fact. Please comply ASAP!

Light repair

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

A repair service was requested on 9/11/2024, but as of today, the security light has not been repaired. I have called several times, but each time I get a different repair time.

First, I was told it would be 3-5 business days, now I'm being told it would be 10-15 business days because of a storm. Why can't the light in my yard be repaired?

This is unacceptable! The security around my house is being compromised by the lack of service from Duke Energy.

BEEN WITHOUT POWER FOR DAYS NOT SEEN ONE SINGLE WORK TRUCK OUT HERE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We have been without power for days I have not seen one single work truck out and the power is not expected to be on for another 5 days. I have a family member with a heart condition who was on a breathing machine we have nowhere to go stay that has power and cannot afford a hotel room we live on 4th Street Northeast in Catawba county North Carolina. I understand there's a lot of people without power right now but again I have not seen one single Duke energy work truck out here so I cannot believe they are doing all they can to restore power.

Customer service is terribly bad. DP takes forever to attempt repairs and the work crews are disrespectful and at times, racist. They are, by far, the worst power company I've ever had the displeasure to deal with!

Six days and counting

It has been six days and counting without power. A company that gets raises deserves termination from employment. A company that can't keep its word when power will be back on doesn't deserve respect but scorn.

Outages in my area that Duke takes their time on fixing

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Duke Energy - Outages in my area that Duke takes their time on fixing

Duke Energy has a state of the art, 100+ million dollar headquarters in downtown Charlotte, and consistently fail to provide energy service to the working class of Charlotte. In addition, they charge exceptionally high rates to finance the upkeep of said building.

I have never paid more for energy in my life. My groceries have all gone bad in my refrigerator and freezer. No need to fret, though! Ill just look out the window of my blistering hot apartment and admire said building.

Thank you, Lynn Good! I hope you enjoy your well-earned 20 million dollar salary.
